Vladimir and Vera Nabokov letters to Morris and Alison Bishop, 1956-1987.

Forty-five typed and autograph letters signed by Nabokov, Vera, or Vera on behalf of both. With the exception of one letter written in Cambridge in 1956, in which Nabokov discusses the idea of pornography and Lolita, the correspondence begins just after the Nabokovs' 1959 departure from Cornell and includes their trip to Los Angeles for the composition of the Lolita screenplay in 1960, their residence in the Palace Hotel in Montreux, Switzerland, and European travels before and after.
